The Opportunity:

As a Guitar Music Teacher, you will inspire young musicians and help them develop their skills across classical, acoustic, and electric guitar. You will deliver engaging lessons and contribute to a vibrant musical community, making a lasting impact on students' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, 1-to-1 guitar lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Prepare students for performances, senior school scholarships, and musical assessments.
  • Build and lead guitar ensembles, including rock bands and other groups.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Music to integrate into the school’s wider musical programme.
  • Maintain a professional and inspiring teaching environment that fosters creativity and confidence.
  • Support students in developing technical and performance skills across various guitar styles.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in guitar pedagogy and musical education.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents on progress and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong background in guitar performance and teaching.
  • Proven ability to teach students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High standards of musical excellence and a commitment to student development.
  • Experience in preparing students for performances or academic assessments.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching both classical and contemporary guitar styles.
  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to lead and manage small ensembles or groups.
  • Knowledge of music theory and pedagogy.
  • Flexibility to manage your own timetable and set your own hourly rates.
