Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a school menu that meets nutritional standards and dietary requirements.
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and service within the school.
- Manage and support kitchen staff, ensuring effective team performance and professional development.
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards across all kitchen areas.
- Monitor and manage food storage, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Liaise with staff and students to understand dietary needs and preferences.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies.
- Report on kitchen operations and contribute to the overall success of the school’s catering service.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in managing a school kitchen and leading a catering team.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and health standards.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and colleagues.
- Commitment to promoting healthy eating and wellbeing.
Preferred
- Experience with catering in an educational or care setting.
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and special diets.
