The Opportunity:

As the Head of Arts Department, you will lead and manage the Arts curriculum, ensuring that students receive a high-quality, inclusive education. This role is ideal for a dynamic and experienced teacher who is passionate about supporting students with diverse needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Arts curriculum across the provision, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
  • Oversee the registration, assessment, moderation, and coordination of all Arts-related qualifications.
  • Implement and update Arts curriculums as needed to ensure alignment with educational standards.
  • Line manage department staff, including timetabling, reviews, and lesson observations.
  • Collaborate with learners, parents, and the leadership team to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Ensure equality and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant teaching experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Arts-related subjects such as Art, Drama, Music, Design & Technology, Textiles, or Food Technology.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or curriculum management role.
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

  • Experience managing and supporting a team of teachers and practitioners.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to expand knowledge and qualifications.
  • Passion for working with children from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs.
