The Opportunity:
As the Head of Arts Department, you will lead and manage the Arts curriculum, ensuring that students receive a high-quality, inclusive education. This role is ideal for a dynamic and experienced teacher who is passionate about supporting students with diverse needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Arts curriculum across the provision, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
- Oversee the registration, assessment, moderation, and coordination of all Arts-related qualifications.
- Implement and update Arts curriculums as needed to ensure alignment with educational standards.
- Line manage department staff, including timetabling, reviews, and lesson observations.
- Collaborate with learners, parents, and the leadership team to support student success.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
- Ensure equality and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant teaching experience.
- Strong subject knowledge in Arts-related subjects such as Art, Drama, Music, Design & Technology, Textiles, or Food Technology.
- Previous experience in a leadership or curriculum management role.
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

- Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to expand knowledge and qualifications.
