The Opportunity:

As the Head of Business and Economics, you will lead a thriving department with a growing A Level cohort. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Business and Economics education and inspire the next generation of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the department aligned with the school’s goals.
  • Oversee the curriculum, assessment, and professional development of departmental staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, attainment, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to whole-school improvement and innovation.
  • Support the pastoral and academic development of students through effective leadership and guidance.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, excellence, and continuous improvement across the department.
  • Represent the department in meetings, inspections, and external events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a senior teaching or leadership role.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Business and Economics at A Level and GCSE.
  • Experience in managing a department and leading a team of teachers.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, student well-being, and academic excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in leading a successful A Level department.
  • Knowledge of extracurricular and enrichment opportunities in Business and Economics.
