Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the department aligned with the school’s goals.
- Oversee the curriculum, assessment, and professional development of departmental staff.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, attainment, and engagement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to whole-school improvement and innovation.
- Support the pastoral and academic development of students through effective leadership and guidance.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, excellence, and continuous improvement across the department.
- Represent the department in meetings, inspections, and external events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a senior teaching or leadership role.
- Strong subject knowledge in Business and Economics at A Level and GCSE.
- Experience in managing a department and leading a team of teachers.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusion, student well-being, and academic excellence.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technologies.
- Experience in leading a successful A Level department.
- Knowledge of extracurricular and enrichment opportunities in Business and Economics.
