The Opportunity:
As the Head of Business and Economics, you will lead the department in delivering high-quality education and fostering leadership and entrepreneurial skills through the co-curricular programme. This is a key leadership role with a significant impact on student outcomes and departmental direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business Management and Economics Department to ensure academic excellence and innovation.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational goals and student needs.
- Promote and support co-curricular activities that enhance student leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate business and economics into wider school initiatives.
- Provide professional development and mentorship for departmental staff.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring consistent academic standards and outcomes.
- Represent the department in school-wide meetings and events.
- Engage with the school community to build strong relationships and support departmental initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching and leadership within a school environment.
- Strong subject knowledge in Business and Economics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a department effectively.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Commitment to co-curricular engagement and student leadership development.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a school.
- Familiarity with Scottish and English examination systems.
- Experience in developing and delivering entrepreneurial and leadership programmes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
