The Opportunity:

The Head of Business Studies will lead and inspire students in a dynamic and growing department. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum delivery and drive academic excellence within a supportive and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Studies department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all students and aligns with the school’s mission and values.
  • Support and mentor staff within the department to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching and learning.
  • Engage with the wider school community, contributing to events and initiatives that promote the school’s vision and ethos.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject area and incorporate innovative teaching methods and resources.
  • Represent the department at staff meetings, parent evenings, and other school events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Business Studies up to KS5.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with technology-enhanced learning and teaching.
  • Experience in leading a department and managing a team of teachers.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
