Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Chemistry department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement an engaging and challenging curriculum aligned with the school’s values.
  • Work collaboratively with other Science faculty heads to promote a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Monitor and support staff development, including mentoring and professional growth.
  • Oversee the effective use of laboratory resources and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Ensure consistent and outstanding academic outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level.
  • Contribute to the school’s strategic vision and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Chemistry at both GCSE and A-Level.
  • Proven leadership experience in a Science department.
  • Strong track record of delivering high academic results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Leadership in a large or multi-academy trust setting.
  • Experience with data analysis and student progress monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement processes.
