The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Classics department, ensuring a high-quality and engaging curriculum.
- Develop and deliver innovative teaching strategies that support student achievement and interest in the subject.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular learning and student outcomes.
- Support the personal and professional development of teaching staff within the department.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Promote the value of Classics within the school and wider community through events and outreach.
- Work closely with parents and students to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the Senior School and its academic vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Classics.
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting, preferably in a senior or middle leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver a successful curriculum.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in a co-educational school environment.
- Familiarity with independent school standards and practices.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to contribute to the development of new academic initiatives.
