The Opportunity:

As the Head of Commerce, you will lead a vibrant department delivering high-quality education in Business, Economics, and Accounting. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a forward-thinking programme and inspire both students and teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and inspire the Commerce Department to deliver engaging and rigorous teaching
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement aligned with the school’s strategic goals
  • Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and examination performance
  • Mentor and support teachers to enhance instructional quality and professional development
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with senior leadership to promote academic excellence and student engagement
  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking Commerce programme
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • British-trained with QTS/PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Minimum of six years of teaching experience in Business, Economics, and/or Accounting
  • At least three years of leadership or coordination experience
  • Strong track record in delivering departmental outcomes and curriculum leadership
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and leadership skills

Preferred

  • Experience with the National Curriculum of England (KS4–KS5)
  • Familiarity with BSO and QNSA accreditation standards
  • Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies
