Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Computer Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement the curriculum to meet the needs of students and industry standards.
  • Oversee staff performance, provide professional development, and support colleagues in their growth.
  • Monitor and improve student achievement, including assessment and exam results.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate computing across the curriculum.
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive departmental culture that supports both students and staff.
  • Manage resources and budgets effectively to support departmental goals.
  • Stay up to date with technological advancements and incorporate them into teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a department within a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science at all levels of education.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level Computer Science or related subjects.
  • Background in managing and developing staff within an educational institution.
  • Familiarity with digital technologies and innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience in a co-educational, selective school environment.
