Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Computer Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a progressive curriculum aligned with the school’s vision and educational standards.
  • Support and mentor staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to promote the school’s ethos and values.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate technology across the curriculum.
  • Ensure the safe and ethical use of technology in line with safeguarding policies.
  • Represent the department at school events and external meetings.
  • Stay up to date with developments in computer science education and industry trends.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Computer Science at the secondary level.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for computer science education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with coding and computational thinking.
  • Experience with teaching in a co-educational environment.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard programming languages and tools.
  • Experience in leading a department through a period of growth and expansion.
