Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Computer Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a progressive curriculum aligned with the school’s vision and educational standards.
- Support and mentor staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to promote the school’s ethos and values.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate technology across the curriculum.
- Ensure the safe and ethical use of technology in line with safeguarding policies.
- Represent the department at school events and external meetings.
- Stay up to date with developments in computer science education and industry trends.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Computer Science at the secondary level.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for computer science education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Familiarity with coding and computational thinking.
- Experience with teaching in a co-educational environment.
- Knowledge of industry-standard programming languages and tools.
- Experience in leading a department through a period of growth and expansion.
