Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the computing department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative computing lessons up to GCSE and post-16 levels.

  • Support and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and integrate new technologies into teaching practices.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events that promote computing and STEM.
  • Work closely with other departments to enhance cross-curricular links and student outcomes.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports student wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in computing education.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of computing subjects up to GCSE and post-16 levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and departmental leadership.
  • Ability to teach a second subject.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and programming languages.
  • Experience with staff training and professional development initiatives.
