The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Computing department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the latest trends and opportunities in computing.
  • Foster a love of computing among students through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
  • Support and mentor colleagues within the department to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate computing across the curriculum.
  • Promote extracurricular opportunities in computing, such as coding clubs and technology competitions.
  • Ensure the department remains up-to-date with industry developments and educational best practices.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s strategic vision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in computing or related subjects.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school department.
  • Strong knowledge of computing qualifications at Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student success.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading curriculum development or innovation in computing.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and programming languages.
  • Experience in mentoring and professional development.
  • Passion for promoting computing and technology in education.
