As the Head of Creative and Performing Arts Department, you will lead a team of educators in delivering a high-quality, inclusive curriculum that supports students with diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the development and implementation of arts-related curriculums across the provision.
- Ensure the achievement and progression of students through effective teaching, assessment, and moderation practices.
- Manage and support departmental staff, including conducting lesson observations, reviews, and timetable planning.
- Coordinate and monitor the registration, assessment, and moderation of Arts-related qualifications.
- Collaborate with parents, students, and other staff to support the holistic development of learners.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and academic outcomes.
- Stay current with curriculum changes and ensure alignment with examination specifications and standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant teaching experience.
- Strong subject knowledge in Art, Drama, Music, Design & Technology, Textiles, or Food Technology at GCSE and A-Level.
- Previous experience in curriculum management and leadership roles.
- Ability to manage and support a team of teachers and practitioners.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Proven experience in exams and curriculum moderation.
