As the Head of Cricket, you will lead and develop a dynamic and inclusive cricket programme across the entire school, including The Elms. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of cricket at a school where sporting achievement is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the school’s cricket programme, ensuring it meets the highest standards
- Develop and implement strategies to grow participation and performance in both boys’ and girls’ cricket
- Coordinate with coaches, staff, and pupils to deliver an engaging and inclusive cricket experience
- Promote the sport across the school and within the wider community
- Ensure the programme aligns with the school’s vision and values
- Provide high-quality coaching and mentorship to students at all levels
- Collaborate with the sports department to integrate cricket into the broader sporting and educational offering
- Monitor and evaluate the success of the programme, making recommendations for improvement
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in coaching cricket at a high level
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff
- Commitment to both performance and inclusivity in sport
- Understanding of the demands of coaching within a busy independent school
Preferred
- Experience in managing a school sports programme
- Background in teaching or education
- Experience with developing girls’ cricket programmes
- Knowledge of youth sports development and coaching methodologies
