The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Dance and Drama to lead and inspire our creative programs. This role is central to shaping a dynamic arts curriculum that supports the holistic development of students. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a high-quality dance and drama curriculum that aligns with the school's educational vision.
- Lead a team of teaching staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a creative and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and artistic expression.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate drama and dance into cross-curricular activities and events.
- Manage resources, budgets, and facilities related to the dance and drama programs.
- Promote extracurricular activities and performances that enhance the school’s cultural and creative profile.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all arts-related activities.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of programs, continuously improving teaching and learning outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading and managing dance and drama programs in an educational setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in dance and drama, with the ability to teach across all key stages.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
- A relevant teaching qualification and current teaching license.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a strong focus on creative and performing arts.
- Knowledge of drama and dance in the context of a co-educational environment.
- Experience with inclusive education practices and supporting students with diverse needs.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
