Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Design Technology department across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and A Level.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that align with the school’s educational vision.
  • Oversee and contribute to the teaching of Food Technology, including Key Stage 4 delivery.
  • Support and mentor staff within the department to ensure continued professional development and excellence.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate Design Technology with broader curriculum goals.
  • Ensure the department maintains high standards of student achievement and engagement.
  • Manage resources and facilities effectively to support departmental needs.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the school’s Design Technology and STEM programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design Technology.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in managing a department.
  • Experience teaching across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and A Level.
  • Ability to teach Food Technology to Key Stage 4 students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within education.
  • Background in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with STEM integration and project-based learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
