Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Drama department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and deliver a dynamic, inclusive curriculum that engages students across all Key Stages.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous professional development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support to ensure all students achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the department and the school’s wider educational goals.
- Promote a positive, inclusive culture that values creativity, innovation, and student well-being.
- Represent the department in meetings, events, and external partnerships.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of resources and facilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Drama and a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in curriculum design and delivery.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or taking on a senior leadership role.
- Familiarity with evidence-informed pedagogy and practitioner-led techniques.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational network.
- Knowledge of Gifted and Talented provision and inclusive teaching strategies.
