The Opportunity:

The Head of Early Years Foundation Stage will lead and inspire a team dedicated to delivering high-quality early education. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the EYFS team, ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Implement the EYFS Statutory Framework and Development Matters guidance effectively.
  • Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for all children.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning to ensure excellent outcomes.
  • Foster strong partnerships with parents, staff, and the wider community.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Teachers’ Standards and safeguarding policies.
  • Communicate the school’s vision and support strategic leadership initiatives.
  • Manage and monitor the implementation of resources and curriculum materials.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an early years setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework and Development Matters.
  • Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Experience in managing and developing teaching teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an international or British curriculum school.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) or Cambridge qualifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development and resource management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with parents and staff.
