The Opportunity:

As the Head of Economics & Business Studies, you will lead and inspire a team of teachers, delivering a high-quality curriculum that challenges and supports students from Year 10 through to Sixth Form. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced practitioner committed to academic excellence and student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Economics & Business Studies department to ensure outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students across GCSE, A Level, and the International Baccalaureate.
  • Promote a culture of professional development and collaboration among staff.
  • Support student progress through innovative teaching strategies and active learning.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including boarding and co-curricular activities.
  • Ensure the use of ICT in teaching and learning to enhance student engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental performance to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching Economics and Business Studies at both GCSE and A Level.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in departmental leadership.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • A working knowledge of ICT and its application in teaching.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate curriculum.
  • A track record of driving student achievement and attainment.
  • Experience in a boarding school environment.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to Catholic and Benedictine values.
