The Opportunity:
As the Head of Education, you will lead the development of a high-quality, inclusive curriculum and drive improvements in teaching and learning across the school. This is a strategic role that shapes the educational direction of a growing institution committed to making a meaningful impact on student lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of a sequenced and progressive whole school curriculum.
- Oversee the design and delivery of inclusive classroom management strategies and support staff development.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive assessment strategy to inform planning and adaptive teaching.
- Manage and mentor teaching and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing school culture.
- Implement systems for self-evaluation, lead internal reviews, and prepare for inspections.
- Ensure alignment between educational, pastoral, and operational priorities across the school.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice.
- Support the development of individualised learning and therapy plans for students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in improving teaching quality and pupil outcomes.
- Experience in leading curriculum, assessment, and school improvement.
- Essential middle leadership experience; senior leadership experience is beneficial.
- Strong communication, relationship building, and analytical skills.
- Confidence in handling challenging conversations.
- Understanding of supporting students with autism and experience with EHCP processes.
Preferred
- Experience in SEN education settings.
- Background in leading school improvement initiatives.
- Experience in managing and mentoring teaching staff.
- Familiarity with inclusive education strategies and practices.
