The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the English curriculum across all year groups.
  • Work closely with Pre-Prep Co-ordinators and other subject leads to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Inspire and support a dedicated English team through professional development and collaboration.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative classroom practice that promotes literacy and a love of reading.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure high standards of achievement.
  • Represent the school at external events and contribute to the broader educational community.
  • Ensure that the school's values and vision are reflected in all aspects of English teaching and learning.
  • Support the school's commitment to safeguarding and the well-being of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in teaching English in a primary or prep school setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for literacy and a commitment to developing students' reading and writing abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with the latest teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar.
  • A track record of achieving outstanding results in English education.
