Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement an innovative and engaging English curriculum.
  • Support and mentor teachers to enhance their professional development and performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring consistent and outstanding outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in leading a department.
  • Proven track record in delivering high-quality English teaching and learning.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a focus on Science, Engineering, and Computing/IT.
  • Background in leading a successful department with strong student outcomes.
  • Familiarity with post-16 education and pathways in STEM subjects.
  • Experience in working with a Multi-Academy Trust or similar structure.
