The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Design Technology and Art faculty.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies to raise student achievement.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of the faculty to ensure consistency and excellence across all year groups.
  • Support staff through professional development and mentoring opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the faculty to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align faculty goals with the school’s overall vision.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and creativity within the faculty.
  • Ensure the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design Technology and Art.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Experience in improving student achievement and raising standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Knowledge of assessment and tracking systems.
  • Experience in leading professional development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted inspection processes.
