The Opportunity:
As the Head of Food and Nutrition, you will lead the development of the subject within the school and inspire students through engaging and innovative teaching. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Food and Nutrition department, ensuring high academic standards and student engagement.
- Develop and implement a stimulating curriculum that caters to a range of ages and abilities.
- Oversee the pastoral care of students within the allocated year group.
- Contribute to the school’s enrichment and pastoral programmes.
- Promote the welfare of students in line with the school’s safeguarding policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
- Support the professional development of teaching staff within the department.
- Ensure all teaching and learning activities align with the school’s educational vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership and management experience in an educational setting.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of Food and Nutrition.
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development.
- Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
- Ability to manage a department and support staff effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and delivering enrichment programmes.
- Knowledge of pastoral care and student support strategies.
- Experience with child protection screening and safeguarding procedures.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
