The Opportunity:

As the Head of Food and Nutrition, you will lead the development of the subject within the school and inspire students through engaging and innovative teaching. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the curriculum and contribute to the school’s enrichment programme, while also taking on pastoral responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Food and Nutrition department, ensuring high academic standards and student engagement.
  • Develop and implement a stimulating curriculum that caters to a range of ages and abilities.
  • Oversee the pastoral care of students within the allocated year group.
  • Contribute to the school’s enrichment and pastoral programmes.
  • Promote the welfare of students in line with the school’s safeguarding policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Support the professional development of teaching staff within the department.
  • Ensure all teaching and learning activities align with the school’s educational vision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership and management experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of Food and Nutrition.
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Ability to manage a department and support staff effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering enrichment programmes.
  • Knowledge of pastoral care and student support strategies.
  • Experience with child protection screening and safeguarding procedures.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
