The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and inspirational teacher to lead Food Preparation and Nutrition at Key Stages 3 and 4. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering an engaging and adventurous curriculum, while supporting students of all abilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Food Preparation and Nutrition department, ensuring a high-quality curriculum is delivered.
- Develop and implement engaging teaching strategies that challenge and inspire students.
- Support students through one-to-one sessions, competitions, and booster activities.
- Work collaboratively with the Faculty Leader and other department heads to maintain academic standards.
- Monitor and track student progress using data and digital tools to inform teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school and act as a Form Tutor.
- Maintain a well-resourced teaching environment and ensure the effective use of facilities and equipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree in Food Preparation and Nutrition or a closely related subject.
- Experience teaching Food Preparation and Nutrition at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Ability to manage and lead a department effectively.
- Strong understanding of the AQA specification and assessment requirements.
- Commitment to student support and individualized learning.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum design and development.
- Familiarity with digital pedagogy and data tracking systems.
- Experience in running competitions or extracurricular activities related to the subject.
- Background in working within a large educational organization or group.
