Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the French department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging French curriculum.
  • Supervise and support a team of French teachers, providing professional development and mentorship.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring excellent academic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Represent the school at external events and maintain strong community links.
  • Ensure compliance with the school’s policies and the requirements of the Edexcel exam board.
  • Promote the importance of language learning and cultural awareness among students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in French language education.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering outstanding academic results.
  • Experience in curriculum development and teacher management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a British curriculum school or international school setting.
  • Familiarity with teaching French as a second language.
  • Knowledge of EAL (English as an Additional Language) support strategies.
  • Experience in working with students across a wide age range (3–18).
