The Opportunity:
As Head of Geography, you will lead the Geography department, shaping the curriculum and driving student progress. This role offers the chance to influence teaching standards and make a meaningful impact on student achievement and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring a high-quality and engaging curriculum.
- Monitor and track student progress across all key stages, identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to raise attainment and achievement in Geography.
- Support and mentor Geography teachers, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching and learning.
- Represent the department at staff meetings and other school events.
- Ensure that the Geography curriculum is inclusive, relevant, and meets the needs of all students.
- Promote a positive and motivating learning environment for students and colleagues alike.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Geography.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of Geography curriculum and assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusive and student-centered teaching.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- Familiarity with United Learning’s educational philosophy.
- Experience in managing and developing a departmental team.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary on the ULT Teachers’ Pay Scale (£35,000 - £51,000) + TLR2.
