Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the History Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the school’s academic and pastoral goals.
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and student progress, ensuring alignment with national standards.
- Support and mentor teachers within the department, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous professional development.
- Represent the department in meetings, inspections, and external events.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure the department contributes to the school’s overall mission and vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a senior teacher with a strong track record in departmental leadership.
- Relevant subject knowledge and qualifications in History.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Preferred
