Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the humanities and geography departments, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that reflects the school’s values and educational goals
- Provide effective pastoral care and support to students, promoting their overall wellbeing
- Mentor and support other teachers, fostering a culture of continuous professional development
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance school-wide initiatives and student engagement
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed
- Represent the school at meetings, conferences, and community events
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS
- Proven experience in teaching humanities and geography at secondary level
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to student welfare and inclusive education
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team
- Knowledge of current educational trends and pedagogical approaches
- Experience with pastoral care and student support
- Familiarity with the use of digital tools in teaching and learning
