Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the humanities and geography departments, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning

  • Provide effective pastoral care and support to students, promoting their overall wellbeing
  • Mentor and support other teachers, fostering a culture of continuous professional development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance school-wide initiatives and student engagement
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed
  • Represent the school at meetings, conferences, and community events
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS
  • Proven experience in teaching humanities and geography at secondary level
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Commitment to student welfare and inclusive education

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and pedagogical approaches
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support
  • Familiarity with the use of digital tools in teaching and learning
