The Opportunity:

As the Head of Junior Boarding House, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of young students aged 12–15. This position requires leadership, empathy, and a commitment to creating a supportive and nurturing environment. You will work closely with the pastoral team to ensure the welfare, safety, and development of students in a boarding setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the pastoral guidance and support of junior boarders.
  • Create a safe, well-ordered, and welcoming environment focused on student welfare.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, students, and school stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage a team of houseparents, coordinating rotas and ensuring high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records with sensitivity and attention to detail.
  • Organise and participate in evening and weekend boarding activities.
  • Uphold safeguarding and health and safety standards at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young people in a residential or boarding setting.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and teamwork.

Preferred

  • EU/EFTA citizenship.
  • English language proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Additional language skills.
