The Opportunity:
As the Head of Junior School, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of boys aged 3–11. This is a leadership position that offers the chance to influence the direction of the school while upholding its core values of Respect, Service, and Leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the Junior School team, fostering a collaborative and motivated environment.
- Develop and implement strategies that enhance academic and pastoral care for students.
- Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, values-based curriculum aligned with the school’s mission.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align the Junior School with the broader vision of the institution.
- Promote a culture of respect, service, and leadership among students, staff, and parents.
- Oversee the management of facilities and resources within the Junior School and Kindergarten.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to build strong relationships and support for the school.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the school, ensuring continuous improvement and development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably within a single-sex school.
- Strong understanding of boys’ education and the unique needs of young male students.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
- Commitment to the values of Respect, Service, and Leadership.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a junior school or similar department.
- Knowledge of IAPS standards and best practices in school leadership.
- Experience in curriculum development and academic strategy.
- Strong background in pastoral care and student welfare.
- Familiarity with school governance and senior leadership structures.
