The Opportunity:

As Head of Junior School, you will lead a vibrant and successful part of a prestigious girls’ school, shaping the educational experience for girls aged 4–11. This is a strategic leadership role that plays a key part in the school’s senior leadership team and requires a visionary leader who can inspire both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Junior School with a clear strategic vision and strong leadership.
  • Foster a culture of excellence in teaching, learning, and pastoral care.
  • Promote innovation and best practices in curriculum delivery and student engagement.
  • Act as a visible and approachable figurehead for the Junior School, participating in events and activities.
  • Ensure the wellbeing, safety, and development of all students and staff.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive the school’s mission and values.
  • Support the continued growth and success of the school through effective leadership and collaboration.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a junior school within the independent girls’ school sector.
  • Strong strategic and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • A passion for educating young girls and a commitment to the values of a single-sex education.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • A background in pastoral care and student wellbeing.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience with leading school events and community engagement initiatives.
