The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dynamic Head of Key Stage 2 / Assistant Head of Primary to lead a vibrant team and contribute to whole-school development. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum delivery, support student growth, and influence strategic initiatives across the primary school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional leadership for the delivery of the British National Curriculum in Key Stage 2.
  • Lead and develop the Key Stage 2 teaching team to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Support curriculum planning, assessment, and monitoring to raise academic standards and student progression.
  • Embed student competencies and values within the curriculum, promoting personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Promote inclusive practice and strong pastoral care for students in Years 3–6.
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement planning, self-evaluation, and strategic initiatives.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Deputise for the Head of Primary and support wider leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status and extensive experience teaching the British National Curriculum.
  • At least three years’ experience leading a Key Stage or equivalent, with demonstrable impact.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and effective pedagogy.
  • Commitment to developing the whole child, including academic achievement, wellbeing, and key competencies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A reflective, collaborative, and solution-focused approach.

Preferred

  • Experience in an EAL-rich or international context.
