The Opportunity:
As the Head of Languages Department - Alternative Provision, you will lead and manage the delivery of language curriculums for students with diverse needs. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced educator who is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and driving academic success through innovative teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Languages Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, inclusive education for all students.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and moderation of language curriculums and qualifications.
- Coordinate assessments, internal and external moderation, and the registration of students for language qualifications.
- Line manage departmental staff, including conducting lesson observations, reviews, and providing support.
- Collaborate with students, parents, and the leadership team to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately to track academic and personal development.
- Stay up to date with current language curriculums and research new subjects as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant teaching experience.
- Experience in managing and leading a teaching team.
- Experience with curriculum and exam management.
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Preferred
- Experience teaching Arabic, French, Spanish, German, or Japanese.
- Strong knowledge of language curriculums and related topics.
- Ability to lead and support teachers in their areas of language study.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pro-rata salary between £21,000 - £25,200 per annum.
