The Opportunity:

As the Head of Law, you will lead a dynamic and high-achieving department, delivering exceptional educational outcomes for students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership and management of the Law Department to ensure outstanding student achievement and attainment.
  • Develop and inspire colleagues in line with the school’s ethos and mission.
  • Proactively lead the department in delivering high-quality education and embracing innovative teaching and learning strategies.
  • Monitor and track the quality assurance of teaching, learning, and assessment to maintain consistency of outstanding provision.
  • Champion student success by monitoring and improving student performance in key performance indicators.
  • Manage the departmental budget and allocate responsibilities to maximize the skills and talents of individuals.
  • Lead on curriculum development and contribute to activities that promote the work of the department externally.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college setting.
  • Strong track record in delivering outstanding academic results and student achievement.
  • Experience in managing a department and leading a team of educators.
  • Familiarity with post-16 qualifications including A Level Law, BTEC, and T Level Legal Services.
  • Commitment to the school’s mission, ethos, and values.

Preferred

  • Experience with EduTech and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Background in promoting and publicising departmental work through external partnerships.
  • Experience in curriculum development and enrichment activities for students.
