Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Expressive and Performing Arts department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that inspires creativity, innovation, and student engagement.
  • Support and mentor staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring consistent and outstanding outcomes.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide priorities.
  • Promote extracurricular opportunities in the arts to enhance student development.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Represent the department at school events and meetings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a department or team in an educational setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Expressive and Performing Arts.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Background in teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in extracurricular programme development.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
  • Experience with school leadership or senior management roles.
