The Opportunity:

As the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will play a crucial role in shaping the school’s brand identity and driving its visibility. This is a one-year fixed-term maternity cover role, offering a unique opportunity to lead and execute an integrated marketing and communications strategy that aligns with the school’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a strategic marketing and communications plan aligned with the school’s goals and ethos.
  • Manage all aspects of marketing, including copywriting, event planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee the production of publications, manage advertising campaigns, and liaise with designers and photographers.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the school through targeted campaigns and high-impact storytelling.
  • Lead and manage the communications and marketing team, including the Communications Officer and Content and Digital Media Officer.
  • Develop and implement costed, measured strategies to achieve marketing and communication targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, feeder schools, and external partners.
  • Represent the school at events, school fairs, and other promotional activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading marketing and communications strategies for educational institutions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing a small team.
  • Excellent copywriting, event management, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience in brand development and campaign management.
  • Strong understanding of digital and traditional marketing channels.

Preferred

  • Experience in the independent or selective school sector.
  • Background in managing advertising and media campaigns.
  • Demonstrable success in increasing school visibility and student recruitment.
  • Familiarity with content creation and digital media platforms.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £49,140 to £55,000, dependent on experience.
