Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Mathematics Department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum aligned with school priorities.
- Monitor and support pupil progress, providing targeted interventions where needed.
- Oversee the effective deployment of staff and resources within the department.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and national requirements, including health and safety standards.
- Promote professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s strategic vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified to at least degree level or professional equivalent.
- Qualified to teach and work in the U.K.
- Experience in raising attainment in mathematics.
- Experience in secondary education.
- Excellent classroom teaching skills with a passion for student achievement.
- Strong organisational, planning, and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
Preferred
- Experience in leading and managing a department.
- Familiarity with current pedagogical trends and curriculum developments.
- Experience with assessment and marking policies.
- Experience in staff appraisal and development.
