The Opportunity:

As Head of Mathematics, you will lead and inspire a dedicated academic team, shaping the strategic direction of the Mathematics Faculty. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence pedagogy, drive innovation, and contribute to the school's continued success in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all age groups.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Computer Science and other faculty members to develop a cohesive academic strategy.
  • Oversee the professional development and performance management of the departmental team.
  • Implement innovative teaching practices and support the integration of technology in the classroom.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with the school's mission.
  • Represent the Mathematics Faculty in meetings, conferences, and external partnerships.
  • Ensure the curriculum remains up to date and aligned with national and international standards.
  • Support the pastoral and academic development of students through mentorship and leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong graduate qualification in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in an academic setting, preferably in a senior role.
  • Extensive teaching experience, ideally at the secondary or higher education level.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop academic teams effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues at all levels.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Familiarity with modern pedagogical approaches and digital learning tools.
  • Leadership experience in a large or multi-disciplinary department.
  • Experience in a school or educational institution with a strong focus on inclusion and diversity.
  • A track record of driving academic excellence and innovation in teaching.
