Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Mathematics department, ensuring alignment with school goals and the National Curriculum for England.
  • Model outstanding teaching practices and set high expectations for pedagogy and student outcomes.
  • Oversee curriculum development and assessment strategies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support and mentor teachers through coaching, feedback, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and reflective practice.
  • Use assessment data to identify areas for improvement and support personalised learning.
  • Promote a love of Mathematics through enrichment activities and co-curricular initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and school leadership to ensure strong progress tracking and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or a related field and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for England and effective Mathematics teaching methodologies.
  • Experience in Mathematics teaching with a minimum of five years’ experience, including leadership within a department or key stage.

Preferred

  • Experience in an international or British curriculum school.
  • Proven track record of raising standards and achieving excellent student outcomes.
