The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring and visionary Head of Mathematics to lead a dynamic department and drive academic excellence. This role offers the opportunity to shape a modern, impactful curriculum and support the continued success of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Mathematics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Design and implement a forward-thinking, ambitious curriculum for Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Analyse attainment data and develop strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Mentor and coach teachers, providing targeted professional development and support.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative departmental culture with shared goals and high expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote the value of mathematics.
  • Manage and lead a team of Mathematics teachers, ensuring consistent standards of teaching and assessment.
  • Support the delivery of A Level, Further Maths, and Core Maths courses with a focus on student engagement and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Mathematics education.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in departmental leadership.
  • Proven ability to improve student outcomes through data analysis and targeted intervention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching and mentoring teachers.
  • Background in leading professional development initiatives.
  • Experience with A Level and Further Mathematics qualifications.
  • Strong track record in driving academic improvement and departmental success.
