Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead curriculum design: Shape and implement a coherent, ambitious curriculum across all key stages.
  • Drive teaching excellence: Ensure consistently high-quality lessons are delivered throughout the department.
  • Develop A Level provision: Play a central role in expanding and strengthening sixth form mathematics offerings.
  • Inspire and support colleagues: Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress: Implement strategies to improve attainment and engagement across all year groups.
  • Represent the department: Collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders to promote the school’s academic vision.
  • Mentor and develop staff: Support colleagues through professional development and leadership opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with educational trends: Integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies into departmental practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in curriculum planning and leadership within a school setting.
  • Outstanding teaching experience, preferably at key stage 3 and 4.
  • A strong track record of raising student achievement and engagement.
  • Experience in leading and managing a department.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering A Level mathematics courses.
  • Leadership experience in a senior teaching or management role.
  • Experience with data analysis and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and its application in the classroom.
