Key Responsibilities:
- Lead curriculum design: Shape and implement a coherent, ambitious curriculum across all key stages.
- Drive teaching excellence: Ensure consistently high-quality lessons are delivered throughout the department.
- Develop A Level provision: Play a central role in expanding and strengthening sixth form mathematics offerings.
- Inspire and support colleagues: Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress: Implement strategies to improve attainment and engagement across all year groups.
- Represent the department: Collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders to promote the school’s academic vision.
- Mentor and develop staff: Support colleagues through professional development and leadership opportunities.
- Stay up to date with educational trends: Integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies into departmental practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in curriculum planning and leadership within a school setting.
- Outstanding teaching experience, preferably at key stage 3 and 4.
- A strong track record of raising student achievement and engagement.
- Experience in leading and managing a department.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and delivering A Level mathematics courses.
- Leadership experience in a senior teaching or management role.
- Experience with data analysis and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with educational technology and its application in the classroom.
