Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and attainment.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department to maintain and enhance the curriculum.
- Support and mentor staff to foster professional development and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted interventions where needed.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
- Work with colleagues across the school to integrate mathematics into cross-curricular initiatives.
- Represent the department at staff meetings, governing body meetings, and other relevant forums.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong academic background in Mathematics, with a relevant degree.
- Significant experience in teaching and leading Mathematics at secondary level.
- Proven ability to raise attainment and deliver outstanding results.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team in a school setting.
- Familiarity with the use of digital tools and resources in Mathematics education.
- Experience in curriculum development or assessment design.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Mathematics education.
