Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the maths department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.

  • Support and mentor maths teachers to enhance their professional development.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department and individual teachers.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in maths education.
  • Ensure the curriculum is up-to-date and meets the needs of all students.
  • Represent the department in school meetings and external events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in mathematics.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
  • Demonstrated success in raising academic standards and improving student outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a maths department with a history of outstanding results.
