The Opportunity:

As the Head of Mathematics, you will lead and inspire a dedicated department, shaping a curriculum that aligns with the school’s mission to deliver real-world, applied mathematics education. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Maths Department, providing strategic direction and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Design and implement a curriculum that integrates real-world applications and cross-curricular opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Develop and lead enrichment activities, employer partnerships, and digital innovation in Maths.
  • Celebrate student achievements and ensure excellent outcomes for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status and a degree relevant to Mathematics.
  • Proven teaching experience across Key Stages 4 and/or 5.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving excellent student outcomes in Mathematics.
  • Experience in leading a subject or curriculum area and supporting colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and national developments in Maths education.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead others with clarity and purpose.

Preferred

  • Experience with digital innovation and industry partnerships.
  • Commitment to professional growth and inclusion.
  • Experience in safeguarding and working with vulnerable students.
