The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Mathematics to lead a dynamic department and drive academic excellence across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. This role offers the opportunity to shape the curriculum, support student progress, and contribute to a school that values innovation and real-world learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire teaching and learning in Mathematics across the school
  • Design and monitor the delivery of the KS3, KS4, and KS5 curriculum
  • Ensure all students make outstanding progress in Mathematics
  • Develop and implement a whole-school numeracy plan
  • Promote high-quality teaching through CPD and open-door coaching
  • Organise and support enrichment activities and events such as UKMT
  • Manage resources and classroom environments effectively
  • Lead intervention and enrichment programmes
  • Support the school’s development and marketing plans

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leading Mathematics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment
  • Commitment to student progress and academic excellence
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents

Preferred

  • Experience with A Level Further Maths
  • Familiarity with project-based learning and real-world curriculum links
  • Experience in leading CPD and staff development
  • Knowledge of using ICT in teaching and learning
  • Experience in school improvement and strategic planning
