The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic Head of Mathematics to lead and develop the department. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact on student achievement and teacher development within a collaborative and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and engagement in Mathematics.
  • Support and mentor staff within the department to enhance teaching practice and professional development.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in Mathematics education.
  • Identify and promote extracurricular opportunities for students to enhance their mathematical skills.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and other departments to align departmental goals with school priorities.
  • Ensure the department adheres to the school’s values and commitment to equality and diversity.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department to ensure consistent standards and improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a Mathematics department.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience in developing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Preferred

  • Experience in professional development and staff coaching.
  • Experience with extracurricular Mathematics activities.
  • Experience in leading curriculum development.
  • Experience with instructional coaching or mentoring.
