Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Maths department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student achievement and engagement in Maths.
  • Support and mentor Maths teachers, providing professional development and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate Maths into a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Represent the department in meetings and external events, promoting the school’s academic vision.
  • Ensure the department adheres to school policies, curricula, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the overall development of the school’s academic and pastoral strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Mathematics.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve student achievement and academic outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and department leadership.
  • Experience with teaching to a range of abilities and needs.
