Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and organise curriculum delivery within the Maths department.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date schemes of work for the subject.
  • Promote effective teaching and learning strategies that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Lead and support the professional development of Maths staff.
  • Monitor and analyse student academic performance, providing regular reports.
  • Implement targeted intervention strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance teaching methods.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s vision and values in all aspects of departmental work.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Evidence of professional development and experience in education.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role.
  • A track record of improving student outcomes in Maths.
  • Experience in curriculum development and departmental management.
